A
gift of love... That
pretty much sums up my work, and my "fee"
schedule. I don't set a price on my work! If you have
a non-profit organization, or small business, or even if you don't
have anything, and
you need a new or updated internet presence, you won't
find a more generous offer.
Why
don't I set prices? A few simple reasons. First, I view
this as a ministry. It's a talent God has given me to
use for His glory, not my own. Secondly, I tend
to be self-depracating, and wouldn't know how to charge
fairly even if I did want to do it for profit. I'm not a professional, but I'm not too shabby,
either. And then there's the little thing about business
licenses and all that kind of stuff. I'm not business
oriented.
Hmmm...
what other reasons come to mind... I'm lazy? LOL, I
really don't like deadlines, don't like pressure, don't
like obligations and commitments. If I choose to do
something, it's because God has really laid it on my
heart to do it. If you ask me to
do something that I don't feel particularly led by God
on, I may go after it like a rabid dog and
work non-stop, or I may take a long, long break leaving
you wondering if I fell off the face of the planet.
Hey, I'm just being honest. But, I do promise that if
I tell you I'll do your work, I will finish it. And
if for some reason I lose motivation and have a hard
time getting it done in a timely manner, I'll let ya
know that I'm being a slowpoke. I may do things on my
own timetable, but I do try to be considerate!
So
here's the deal. If you can handle my sporadic work
ethic, and if I feel like your "cause" is
worthy, my work is my love offering to you... and all
I ask is that you give me a love offering
in return. If you're a Christian, offer whatever God
lays on your heart. If your site is for your church,
and you aren't getting a clear directive on what to
offer, perhaps you could just take up an offering during
your worship service. If your site is for a business,
remember, I work for tips. Give according to your profit
margin.
